Hello all, any help I can get with this situation would be greatly appreciated. I was lucky enough to recently win a Proxmia Ovation 920 projection panel from, where else, ebay. I paid a pretty penny for it but I am not getting what I paid for right now. It came with all the cables, proper power supply. It is supposed to detect up to 1280x1024. I power it on, splash screen comes up. I plug in my cable from the PC and a blank screen shows up, a few seconds later, it flashes like it is scanning for something and then back to blank screen. I can maneuvre through the menu on the screen but there seems to be no signal making it to the display or I have some setting way off. I reset it back to 'factory defaults' from a manual page I found online but no improvement. I am not ready to throw it out the door but if anyone could offer up any nuggets of advise, I will listen like the good little padawan learner that I am 🙄 corny....doh!

I tested it with my display at 800x600 and 1024x768 while the monitor was set for 60mhz (I read that somewhere) and got nothing both times. It does look like there is just something off and I tried just about everything I could push or select. I will check back often to answer any follow up questions if any. Thanks for any help I get. I will close with my system specs. Don't laugh. Peace out.

your lucky day

hello idahomacman,

It has been so long since I posted originally, I wasn't sure if anyone ever read that old stuff. Alot has changed since that post. The most important is that pussed out and bought an Infocus X1 for home theater needs. I finally shook the diy projector bug but I will diy an htpc soon. Be that as it may, I would be willing to part with the cables, of which I have all, for a little $$. Send me an email addr and I will send you a pic of what have. Since I think the panel isn't functioning (it may be serviceable though), I'd be willing to part with it also at a large discount from my purchase price. I also have another Ovation 842 in good working order ( I was sharing cables with the 920, for testing) if you have any interest in checking that out also. I am just ready to get rid of all this stuff because it is just taking up space. And now that my camera is working, I can get you some good pics. Thanks for the response and I'll talk to you later.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, my 920 sounds like it is doing the same thing yours was! In RCA and S-Video modes, anyway. Hmm... I still want the computer connector cable so I can test the computer input, though. Also, what resolution is the 840? I had an 812 supposedly running at 640x480, but the image looked very pixelated, almost like somebody had laid a grid across the image. If the 840 doesn't do that, I'd be interested in aquiring it. I just need something a little clearer than the 812. If you could possibly send me a hi res pic of the 840 in action, that would be awesome. If you can't, oh well.

Anyway, my email address is anthonytardiff@yahoo.com. Send me pics and prices and we'll talk. 🙂
