Hi everybody. I am a noob around here. I have a project that I plan to tackle, but it is out of my element. My wife is planning to open a multi-room massage studio. Kind of a "Massage Envy" knock off. There will be 10 or 11 separate rooms or areas. We will want to have a pair of speakers and a volume control in each room. I need advice as to what components I will need to put this all together. Please tell me which forum my inquiries need to go in. Thank you for your help.
Welcome to the forum.
Your question should probably go in the Live Sound - PA systems forum, tho you aren't doing live sound. What you are doing is often known as "Commerical Sound" as it's used in a commercial environment, like an office or a store. It's a well established area with plenty to choose from. Distributed sound form home use may also do what you want.
You could post in "Everything Else".

The usual way for music distribution uses transformers and volume controls - 100v line system it's called.
You could put small powered speakers in each room and wire the signal to each room, but you would need balanced connections which 99.9% of cheap powered speakers wont have. The normal unbalanced connection usually used on domestic hifi etc might create a ground loop - makes a hum sound on the equipment.
