Hello to all new to the world of car audio. I'll be asking lots of questions and asking for opinions on my up coming audio install.
**I'm stationed aboard in the military just got 1st car and want to over haul the audio in my van, I'm planning on putting either 2 12's/2-15's SPL subs in a ported enclosure that'll need to be from 5.0 to 6.0 cu.ft. depending on which subs I use. As far as door speakers I chose to go w/ 2 pair 0f 6.5 components for the front and rear of the vehicle. I'm also going to use a 3.0 farad power cap on 2 amps.1 amp will run the subs at 2000 watts rms(total for both subs) and the other amp will run the components (400 to 600 watts rms)for the whole sound system. The main problem I'm running in to is the building of subwoofer box(I have no clue on how to build one and, I'm having a difficult time finding any plans for one. I've seen them in two designs 1 has round ports and the other has slotted ports, and I don't know the difference between the 2. I really would like to build the slotted port enclosure over the round port enclosure any help/advice in making this undertaking a reality is /will of the greatest help to this new audio enthusiastic .
