Need a pair of lighter weight drivers to replace these in some 6th order ported (NOT bandpass) boxes so they need to be pretty close. I'd rather keep the existing cabs as they're a decent size.

^^ Thanks. I should have thought of that one myself. Bit pricey especially with shipping and taxes, but makes enough weight difference to make it worthwhile. This application is for my 3 way bass guitar cab, and the extension cab. Might just buy one for the main as the few gigs I've done lately have been small I'll deal with the added weight of the extension when I rarely use it.

The Eminence Kappalite 3015LF Neo 15" is lighter (only 10.7 pounds) and cheaper than the JBL 2265HPL, might be worth a try modeling it in your cabinet design, even though the Thiele-Small parameters don't match the JBL2226.

^^ Thanks for the suggestion, but I need an Fs of about 40Hz and a Qt of 0.3 for it to work in the existing 6th order box.
Worth having a look through the SB Audience speakers -
Rosso 15MW500 looks close(ish) and the 15SW800 has a low FS but is a sub rather than a woofer if that is an issue. IIRC these tend to be fairly priced and are starting to get good reviews.

Did a quick overlay of the frequency responses and they are almost identical.

Thanks Ugg10 as I'd only briefly looked at those series when they were first released, but as I have about 200 good drivers on hand wasn't interested in any more so didn't look closer until now.
I appreciate the suggestion but neither is lighter than what I have and I'm happy with that, bar weight.
