I recently obtained a very nice set of speakers from an audiophile friend. The sound out of them was quite good and I enjoyed them very much. Only, now, there's one problem! The woofers in each of them got fried when a power lead from my master supply shorted with a mono speaker lead. I was ready to punch a hole in the wall by the time I found out that they had fried. It seems they stayed on the DC for a while because I only noticed the smell a while later. I wasn't listening to music at the time.
My question is: What's a good pair of high quality 8" woofers that
I can use in a medium-small sized sealed enclosure? Does anybody have any for trade or sell??? I'm dying to get these working again, they look so nice sitting there all set up but all they do is produce high frequency!!
Please, somebody must have some ideas or a good set of woofers to sell for reasonably cheap, or perhaps a trade...

Hello,
I am using an Alcone AC8 HE. Very nice Mid-Woofer.
Look at www.lautsprechershop.de
Site is in German language i'm afraid
Or try www.rcmakustik.com wich is in English.
Greetings from the Netherlands!

"--/They forgot the decimal when they came up with 56K!!!"
Lol, I noticed that also. But mine connection is more like "they put the decimal point in the wrong place when they came up with 28.8K!!!"
I have a 4 for sale, they have small dings in them, not bad I have pictures, but sound great. They are almost the same as the Visaton AL 200, except they have copper/magnisium cones. But I will sell them for slightly more than there shipping price to Germany? cause I want to get rid of them. They work in a 30 liter enclosure.

Well, actually, I got some drivers now. From a friend I work for here in BC now that I've moved. They are Nippon drivers, I don't know how good they are supposed to be but they do sound very good in these enclosures I have.
