How do you find out what brand drivers are in a particuar speaker. I know some of the drivers are specially designed for certain manufacturers, but I want to know what is the closest match.
I want to build a 2 way monitor speaker. I have a pair of sonus faber's and love the way they sound. I want a pair of speakers for my office.
I want to know what tweeter sonus uses, I know it is a SEAS, but no idea how to figure out a close match. I would like opinions on woofers, I believe sonus uses Scanspeak and SEAS.
I would like to copy the concerto or electa amator or signum or even the new auditor (cremora series) I have seen the site that clones the minima, but I am not interested in that.
I appreciate any help!
Thanks

The only way to do this is to search extensively on the Internet for any information and/or try calling the company or a dealer. The easiest way will to accuratly measure the drivers with a software and find an aftermarket driver that match your driver.
Finally, even if you have found a driver that is close to the real thing, chance are small that you will be able to "copy" the crossover because the behavior of the drivers will not be exactly the same.
Good luck!

I am not trying to make an exact match, something similar.
I just don't know what to buy. Like when I looked at scanspeak and seas website, the have different series and some lot the same.
I know I want a silk dome tweeter and either a 6 or 7 inch driver. But from their i have no idea.
Please help

Does the webmaster at that site have an Email address? If he knows how to clone the Minima, he might have info on the other models. If not, he might have advice on how to get it.
That would be where I would start.
Very often, stereo magazines, both online and at the newstand, have extensive reviews that reveal the driver models or info if the models are custom made. I would try to get online reviews of those models you mentioned.
