Hi all, newbie here. I just bought a set of Wilson Watt 5's but both tweeters are broken, one has a loose lead wire and the other looks burnt. I am located in the bay area, california and was wondering if any of you have a good recommendation for a shop that can rebuild these tweeters.

Thanks for the replies, called wilson and they quoted me $400 for each tweeter, so I was trying to find a more reasonable approach.
I cant believe that crap...buy Thiel next time...they replace broken drivers for 10 years. Thanks for the replies, called wilson and they quoted me $400 for each tweeter, so I was trying to find a more reasonable approach.
If I recall correctly, Wilson used a modified version of the Focal TC120Ti in that speaker. Focal hasn't made them in years, and who could tell what "modified" means, they obviously removed the center piece from them (I forget what they call that thing, focus something, I dunno), but the real question is did they do anything to the diaphragm or voice coil? It's less important because finding one will be harder than hen's teeth. Now, what you can find is the close cousin/later model the TC120-TD5. It can bolt right in place of the old one. Zalytron says they still stock them, Speaker Exchange here in Tampa lists that they carry them and replacement diaphragms. About $120 for the entire tweet from Zaly, or a couple bucks less for just the diaphragm. They won't sound exactly the same, they could possibly not sound at all the same if they used a different impedance VC, but it might be worth a $120 gamble to try one out. The general consensus was the TD5 was a little smoother due to going to a Titanium dioxide instead of bare titanium on the diaphragm of the Ti. Speaker Exchange will also repair tweeters, but they may not have the exact replacement parts for that one. My personal subjective opinion is that anything at all that could be done to make the Wilson Watts a little less ear-bleeding would be welcomed, TiO2 might be a good start.

That's laughably sad

Everything worthwhile and custom, costs real money. That is the way of things.
really? So $400 per tweeter is worth it? Hardly. Wilson should be ashamed.
You can buy a variable L-pad later (if in need of attenuation) or tweak the crossover.
