I was wondering which Memphis or Kicker amplifier I should get that would power my 2, Memphis 15-PR124D subwoofers. They have 400 Watts Peak Power and 250 Watts RMS power, and they are 4ohm. Also I am confused about the difference between the different ohms also and what makes the difference between the different ones. If someone could help me out I would really appreciate it.
If I'm not mistaking I think (if the speakers are dualvoicecoil) .. then u can connect the 2 4ohm subwoofers to create an 2ohm load and will give you 500watts rms... so the best amp would be a 1-2 channel amp with probley from 400-800 watts... I would go with the 800 watts but you must take in mine there are so many other factors when it comes to the right setup... typically always try to stay with the same brand because (these so-called other factors) which i cant explain from my experience.. are already set-up or close to matching and complimenting each other.
Well I've read and I've only found that with DVC 4ohm subs you can wire them only to a 4ohm or a 1ohm load. And I was going to wire a 1ohm load because you don't need an amp with as much power as a 4ohm load, because it draws less powerbut still puts out. Let me know what you think
It will take quite an expensive amp to reliably drive a 1 ohm load. You won't save any money that way.
i would stick with the 4 ohm mono-series-paralel wiring ,as far as amps go there are many inexpensive options with the subs 2 in voice coils and small x-max - .375in 1-way you shouldnt need anymore than 600w 4 ohm bridged to get them to max exursion or blow, an inexpensive 500w class a-b, class d or class t should do fine with these subs ,as far as matching components it doesnt matter

if your strapped for cash it will work fine ,ive never -will never ,use lanzar vibe but for that price i would rather find a older good condition used mtx 2300 ,not that you need that much power but at least youll have realistic power on tap and only spend a bit more,even the older lanzar opti series can be had pretty inexp. and they were made by zed audio good reliable amps ,dont spend tons more money based on power-those subs they will not use it
