Hello everyone.
I have an AK4399-based DAC with what appears to be a broken CM6631A USB module. Whenever I plug the USB cable in, I get a “port reset failed” error. Here is the link to my DAC on AliExpress:
Finished CS8416 + AK4399 + OPA2604 Audio DAC with LCD1602 display L153 23 HL|dac cable|dac headphonedac digital audio converter - AliExpress
As you can see, this DAC is modular and supports both CM6631A and XMOS modules. I would like to replace the faulty CM6631A module with XMOS; however, none of the online shops seem to have the XMOS board that fits this DAC in stock.
This is the board that I am looking for:
XMOS USB Module SPDIF I2S Output for AK4399 WM8741 Encoder - Free Shipping - ThanksBuyer
Does anybody have any suggestions on where I can find it?
Thanks.

You are unlikely to find that particular USB board. However, if you want to fix your dac using what is available its probably quite doable.
Thank you for the quick reply. To be honest, I would rather pay the money for the new USB board than try to repair the faulty one. However, in case I am unsuccessful in finding a suitable USB module for my DAC, I might attempt repairing the faulty board. If that is the case, I will be back here asking for help in troubleshooting the faulty CM6631 board.
If you could fit something like this inside the dac case: I2SoverUSB - I2S over USB Audio ...that or similar would probably be the best fix.
Final update:
I ordered a USB board which looked like it would work with my DAC from the thanksbuyer.com website. After more than six weeks of emailing them back and forth, I finally received a package… with eight fuel injectors for Ford Mercury. Obviously, a little different from what I initially ordered.
After that debacle, I went to the Taobao website and found the following item there: ??XMOS ??USB ?IIS+SPDIF ?? 384K/32bit ??DSD-??? , which looked like it would fit my DAC. I had nothing to lose (except approximately $50 for the item and shipping), so I ordered that XMOS USB board through the Superbuy agent. The first package that Superbuy sent me was returned to them by the Chinese customs. Luckily, the second time it went through. The package looked like it was used by a football team (soccer for you North Americans) to practice, but the USB board was intact.
I plugged in the USB board in my DAC, connected the DAC to my PC, installed the drivers, and… it worked! It has been working perfectly for a couple of weeks now.
I am attaching some pictures of the original (broken) CM6631A USB module and the XMOS replacement from Taobao.
Maybe somebody else is in a similar situation that I was in and will find this post helpful.
