Can anyone help me diagnose my Kingrex T20Uamp? It get's recognized by my computer as a USB sound device and the solid blue power light lights up but no sound. No sign of burned components or nasty smell but the Tripath 2020 chip get extremely hot within 60 seconds of power-on... to hot to touch even with the attached aluminum heat sink. I measured the Kingrex PSU power supply and it showed 24 volts DC output. Is that the problem? over voltage? Perhaps my PSU is bad? I tried another 3 amp 12 volt power supply but the Kingrex amp blue light just blinks and the computer does not recognize it as an audio device - so in that case the USB is not working.
Any ideas on diagnosing or repairing? Can the 2020 chip be replaced or likely there is some other problem and it would not be worth the time to diagnose/repair? What say you circuit guru's?
thanks much in advance.

I usually find mosfets and class d chip are fried.
I have replaced mosfets on their own before and then powered up and blown them again because class d chip had gone too.
So I always replace both now.
The power supply needs checking first to ensure it has correct voltages on it.
