Hi all 🙂
I had once a DAC with the CS8416 + CS4344 chips
and liked it very much .
I noticed this very cheap dac 22$ including Power supply and shipment
Find MUSE CS8416 + CS4344 Audio Converter DAC 24Bit/192Khz B on eBay Global Buying, with worldwide deals on items in all your top categories
i see that he does not has electrolit capacitors . maybe an SMD CAPS .
do you think i can give an a try to this dac ? or maybe there is no way that it will play well ?
thanks have a nice day

I saw this thread only now. I bought the DAC. It doesn't work !
After connecting it up it worked for about 15 seconds and then the sound started tearing up. Sometimes if I fiddled with the power socket and lifted up the unit the sound would clear up for some time. Then again it would start getting a scratchy sound and keep increasing till you couldn't listen to it. I checked the soldering on the psu socket but it was OK. I even reflowed the solder on it. When the music stops the scratchy noise continues and then just before the music starts again the noise stops. After a few seconds it starts off again.
I have not yet scoped the board , but anyone have any idea what the problem could be ? During the moments it played clearly it seemed to be good sounding!
I thought that it might have a chip smps on board which was flaky. With no digital input connected you get a loud hiss from the analog output.
