Thought i'd start my own thread for my project.
Oooo im really excited, it's 1am but i can't wait to get building!
Right, first things first.... i want to use ideally a 7/8" lcd. I no that Lillliput is very popular. Im very interested in the Lilliput 7" LCD 319GL-70NP. I have found it for £69 (roughly $130) on one site. Anybody found one cheaper...?

I think you'd want to sart with something a little higher res. The one your looking at is only 480X234. You'd be better off saving another $100 and get the higher res version. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7953443257&category=38650

Hi
Total your looking at spending £130-£160 on a lilliput lcd unless you can get one 2nd hand, or find a good auction on ebay (you will be lucky i check everyday and hasent been one for about a month 🙁)
The refresh rate is 30ms or around that mark
Another lcd that is almost thew same as the lilliput is this http://www.mp3playerstore.com/stuff_you_need/special/IN-700VG.htm
I have been looking at getting one for my projector

The Innovatek seems identical to the Lilliput. I have ordered the lilliput 7" 619GL - 70NP off ebay for £109 (£134 inc delivery).
Aint relly made any plans for my projector yet, still gathering info on different designs, but thought i'd buy the lcd to have some fun with in my car!

I don't have access to any workshops, so making the housing for the projector will be hard. Looking around the internet to find ones that have been pre-cut. Did found a really nice one here
http://www.diyprojectorcompany.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=76
like the size and the price too of only $35 (£23 or so) but the shipping cost is a a devestating blow.... $75!!!
Anybody in the UK know of a cheaper buy...?

Dont think there are any places in the uk at all, if you do make a order from there, let me know as i could do with some uv glass and ir filter and i will pay towards some! of the postage 🙂

Try your local cabnet maker once you figure out your design. They will have the materials and equipment to make your box, and I bet they would do it fairly cheaply.

Great advice there bud..i did that with ma first PJ cabinet maker wasn't even going too charge me until i was a little short on mdf i took with me...ended up costing 5 bucks all cut on table saw 100% accurate 🙂
Bah humbug! Just can't find the time to see this project through.
Im not going to worry about the enclosure, si'm sure i can go back to my old school and use thier workshop.
Haven't really thought of what plan im going to use... ideally i want to keep the projector compact so i will be using mirrors to reduce the volume of the the enclosure.
- I'm wondering what's the optimal screen sixe i should aim for, where the picture is at it's highest contrast and sharpest...? Bear in mind i have a 7" Lilliput with just over 1.1 million dots, the porjector is going to just under 4 meters away from the wall (throw distance i think). So can anybody work out what size screen i can achieve..?
- What power light should i go for...? 250w or 400w..? i no the 400w goes really hot. I have seen a package here
http://www.exclusiv-online.com/shop/index.php?main=product&art=LGSETMH
IS the power supply the ballast...? Oh and is that a good price...?
- What about the lens..? Im i better off with triplet lens? What size lens to get a sharp picture from 4 meters away?

Been a while since my last post... really busy at work and uni. My half-working lcd has been sitting around doing nothing. My problem still exists. I bought a dat box, i had my PS2's RCA cables as input and converted to VGA out... connected to my lcd but still it flickers!
Here are some pics so you know what i'm talking about...

What inputs you got at the back of your Lilliput - AV or S-Video? Also make sure if the screen is PAL or NTSC you have the correct output from your PC. Should be able to change it in the BIOS.
Right, at the back there is input for VGA and AV (thats RCA). On the spec its says-
Colour system: PAL-4.43; NTSC-3.58
And im sure i can change to PAL or NTSC on the menu. Can you really alter the outpit from BIOS...?
