Had my 368 as my entry into hifi and its awesome....but after looking around for more power, options being a c268 to bridge 300w per ch OR go with the new tech (which I prefer) being purifi amps. So c298 or more economically something like the VTV eval 1........BUT
has anyone opened up a 368 and just replaced the amp module with purifi amps? would the stock power supply handle this or would you swap that out for the SMPS that they usually come with?
i like the idea of hot rodding an amp and making it a sleeper 😎
thanks in advance

It looks to me like the C368 uses the UCD102 module, which is designed for 36v rails. Although the Purifi 1ET400A specs 25-65v rails, and it would work with your 36v rails, the eval kit uses the SMPS1200A400 power supply with 64v rails. You'd gain better sound quality of the Purifi modules, but not more power output unless you change the power supply.
Yeah i assumed it would be a amp and power supply swap out but what would be the logistics of connecting that to the existing interface?
You'll have to make room for the 2 Purifi modules the power supply, but even then, it doesn't appear that the UCD102 module's interface has all the needed I/Os for the 1ET400A modules.

Although I like the idea of hot rodding an amp (I'm working on my own resto-mod of a Dynaco Stereo 120), I'd say you're better off building a standalone Purifi amp and using the preouts of your C368 to drive it.
