Picked up one of these today for repair and it had the strangest plug on it, never seen one of these before ever.

Same as mine ( a work colleague was about to throw it in a skip ), you need the special nad distribution block thing, then you'll be able to plug in several nad separates.
I had a mini power distribution block which came complete with these plugs.
It had the advantage of taking up minimum space in the tight confines of a small equipment rack.
Pain in the neck if you wanted to swap separates in and out of your system though!
