For all you people who like talking about geniuses, heres a thread for you.
My uncle could have been what Einstein was if it weren't for one big problem: his otism. He was reading college level books by the 3rd grade, and not just electronics books- he was reading english, science, physics, algebra, and needless to say, he probably could have gone into any subject he wanted to in the fourth grade! He has built several projects on his own including tesla coils, turntable using a needle and an upside down paper plate, numerous radio transmitters and recievers. He even built an atomic bomb in high school! All he needed to make it work was the plutonium and uranium, but the teachers didn't understand exactly what he was trying to do other than threaen the school, etc. The school had asked them to do a science project and he did one! Although I don't blame the teachers all that much now that I think about it, how would you react if someone brought a working model of an atomic bomb to your house?
I think my uncle didn't get a fair chance in the buisinessworld. He used to work at an automotive place (automotive is another of his specializations) and they didn't give him a good wage for the amount of prowess he was using, and He was far better a mechanic than the person the place was named after. Our car has been broken down and none of the other mechanics were able to diagnose the problem. Just this week, he figured it out: the engine mounts were broken which caused a part of the car to get hot and make the oil pan so hot that the gasket melted and was sucked into the pan because of the vacuum! He didn't even do it using all that special equipment that modern mechanics use, just his common sense. Currently he is fixing it and apparently it will take awhile.
The biggest problem that he has, though, is that he developed slight schizophrenia (not paranoid schizophrenia) and he doesn't like taking his medicine because it muddles up his thoughts and he can't think! Another story of sad failure, not caused by the victim but by disorders that weren't open for treatment.
The above context may not be very organized, that is because it is more like rough draft because I just typed it. The details may be somewhat far-fetched, but I garantee their authenticity.
If there is something that doesn't seem right, or if this passage seems written in a somewhat immature manner, remember, I am only 13!
There is my uncle's story, which I wish wasn't so sad but nonetheless, it's true.

I think you need to get yourself some webspace, a little website
and have a blog for your daily articles, thinkings and sharings
who knows,
one day you might be the owner and chief editor
of a daily newspaper somehwere in the states
... at least judging from your posts in this forum at a very early age
you have some potential and creativity
you can have very good use of in your future days ahead
maybe you have already such a webpage 😉

I really do want to get a webpage! I downloaded the free Apache server but didn't have a machine to put it on, so it's pretty useless. I am wondering if anyone knows about a good free HTML editor. I have tried sourceforge.com but they don't have anything good. I don't want to have to use paid servers, just because I don't want to go through the hassle, and I don't have the money! I only wish that I can be competent as a webpage designer, and not just text and ASCII diagrams! I want to make pages that are easy for everyone to read and that don't repel anyone who has a content protection program (Nope! No bad images or explicit language!
).

I can recommend

One question-is there any way that you can register a domain name free? The site requires registered domains to add to your hosting list. Or is there something I'm missing?
Edit: Never mind, I can just use a subdomain

The more intelligent a person is, the more likely they are to posess complex enough wiring to experience 'slight schizophrenia', in at least as much as others would see it.
Complexity of thought increases dramatically, as does the capacity to serve multiple tasks at once. My personal record is speaking with 8 different people on 8 different subjects at one time. I had been experimenting with colloidals and my seratonin levels at that time were extraordinary. Thus a dramaticaly altered and increased connectivity within the ole' bean. Intelligence somewhere in the 200 range was my estimate. The cycle is self feeding, which can create complexities in the area of control. This could be part of your uncle's problem. The mind can be too open.
I had spontaneously reached the capacity to medidate, at high enough levels to achieve stilled breathing. This at the age of 8. Met a buddhist at a local bookstore, he was hanging out in the 'enlightenment' section, and cruising for recruits/interesting folk. I blew his mind so much he ran away. It turns out he was the head of the local buddhist group that was new to the city.
I can certianly believe your story of your uncle. There aren't many of us out there, but our numbers are increasing.

You may be right... Maybe his mind is open, but not too the right kind of information. He is autisic, and problems like this seem to group together a lot of times. The problem with me and my uncle is that we're horribly unsocial, so this might be part of our problem. It seems that a lot of smart people in history had problems like autism and ADHD and things like that. I wish that I could be as smart as my uncle or you, but people already say that I am smart and I think that it just wastes my time to think about being smarter than I am. I will try to take an IQ test sometime or another... Don't know, maybe I'm smarter than I think... However, IQ is a flawed measurement, because it doesn't have a way to gauge knowledge and determination. One of the good things about me is that I am determined in (almost) everything that I do.This has lead me to gather an uncanny amount of knowledge over the years. Sometimes this leads to hasty conclusions in my thinking processes, though. I aim to be a good designer, like mikeB.
Einstien scored 176. But he was in the right place at the right time, and he himself admitted exactly that. Some are humble, some are not. I tend to vacillate on that point. Mostly I'm humble in person, always learning from anyone I can. In print, this naked characteristic to my voice, tends to be seen as ego, as it seems like an affront to those who read it. Hoisted by thier emotions, again. Apologies. Clarity does not always arrive with tact in hand.
The tests you are looking for stress cognition and creativity over rote learning and memory. They are a far more universal and correct IQ test. Ron's 'mega IQ' test is one and he has others. I find them fairly easy to ace, or score high on.
When one is at these levels, enviroment, health, eating, booze, drugs, exersize, heck even moon and planet phases have an effect that is noticable. The last bit of that sentence will cause the ignorant to roll their eyes, but pay no attention to the ignorant, as you will spend your life wasting valuble energy on such. Instead, simply DO...and let them spin in the spirals of your wake.
Educating them is a battle that cannot be won, as one is going up against the ingrained characteristic of their emotions expressed as limits to understanding, not intellect. Intellect does not suffer emotions gladly, when it comes to truths. And emotions do not suffer truth gladly, when it comes to human comfort and mental positioning, or stance. The battle is internal and individual in nature, not external.
I mention these things so that you may understand some of the aspects of yourself, if such similarities are there. Helps to bring about a bit more personal introspection and clarity, in a shorter time period. The stress can be high when you are that age. It was for me.
See the link in my signature for some mental fun. Ie., outrageously cool stuff. I would not suggest that you play with such things directly, but merely preruse the very large website at this point.

I understand what you are saying about moon phases and stuff. I have noticed some awareness of such things on my part as well. We tend to be aware of things on a larger scale, so that we tend to notice unusual behavior in other humans such as a hidden item in the hand or slight drunkenness. About emotions... Sometimes there are situations in life where you have to just do something out of just gut and emotions, not looking toward logic, because logic will cause you to fail. <edited by moderator>
What do you consider the best circuit you have ever built? I know I am not quite the amateur engineer yet, but I want to see what you have done. 🙂
Looked at that website. It has a lot of interesting philosophy stuff, but for some strange reason I just can't read this "philosopher's stone" and "gods and goddesses" and roman stuff like that. The latter parts were interesting, though, like levitation and zero-point energy. 🙂

Sorry about the pride.

That is a well established set of rules that will keep peace in DIYAudio for a long time... Peace in these places comes from a set of rules that isn't necessarily controlling, but strict. This kind of moderation will keep everyone happy who abides by it! The only ones who will be discontent will be the ones who try to defy it. The best part of this setup, though, is that the moderators are in a place where they can afford to be somewhat humorous while still doing their job. This means that they can hurt someone's pride without necessarily insulting them.
It is good when someone lays down the rules with a bit of humor, because it is more likely that people will read through the whole thing because they will like the style of writing.
This is only the second forum that I've registered to, but I think that I am starting to get the hang of things.

Thanks for reading through them again. I wish more would.
Other forums may allow a lot more but we pride ourselves on having forums that all feel comfortable using regardless of age, gender, race or religion. The only stipulation beyond acting civil is that you communicate in English.

As with any particular culture, it takes a while to grasp.
I had a bit of a rough time at first- I thought I was a clever, edgy character and got in some trouble!
We get lots of positive comments that this is the only audio site where the writer can stand to discuss things because the other places are too aggressive; the intent is to "win" not learn more through discussion.
Of course some seem to never catch on....🙄
You, Kean , seem to be catching on admirably😀

I guess that I just stumbled on to one of the best... The last forum I joined was about game system emulation, and a lot of young people are on there so it's hectic at times... I got burned to the ground because I thought it was a place where I could express my opinions more freely and ended up acting somewhat immature because I wasn't really trying to control myself. I certainly hope that this site lasts a long time!
