I've been reading these forums for a while now, in anticipation for my lcd monitor to arrive, (ebay, backlight was broken) and saw great results with everyones projects. Finally everything arrived and I immediately started to pull everything apart and putting it all back together again. 😀 Now knowing the hows/whys of this entire project, and seeing what other kinds of mods you can accomplish, in the next couple of months (if I can pull myself away from the screen!) construct a light tight box with professional lens/lights etc. instead of my OHP. But in the meantime this experience of was extrememly gratifying and I must show my appreciation for everyones helpfull posts.
Here is my OHPBeamer.
Gateway FPD1530 15"
A great panel, a little tuff to strip apart. The circuit boards are "glue'd" (double stick tape) to the backlight backing, use a sharp knife to cut inbetween them, just take your time. and NO FFC at all!
3M 1700 Series OHP
A good find, $100 360watt bulb

Cardboard on front to keep the fans airflow exactly where I want it, plus it blocks out light leak.
Showing you gap between lcd panel and stage. Plus position of fan.
The boards. I built "shelves" out of styrofoam I had from my new monitor box so everything would lay nice and flat.
The LCD in action
My Screen made out of 5 sheets of 26"X40" white card paper. Total size 76"X65"
You can see my lightswitch on the left hand side to judge size 🙂
The projector works great, clear, bright, and huge🙂 . Only negitive side is that it IS an OHP and light does leak out. But that just means more projects!
I can take more pictures if there are requests, and am glad to help if anyone needs any.
Thanks for reading my first post!

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Awesome results!!
Does your 15" lcd fit all the way on to the stage of the OHP? Did you modify the stage so the whole image is visable?
I have an OHP setup using the Proxima 944 projection panel. I want to change to either a 14" or 15" LCD. I am pleased with the results of the Proxima but, I want a faster refresh rate with an LCD. You can see my results here

126" from the screen, I've moved it farther away it still projects quite well, but started to lose some brightness.
Have to love 90" Mario🙂
