Hello all,

Just removed the mutting transistors on my Rotel 965BX and thought I would share what needs to be done in case anyone else wants to try the same mod.

Its really simple actually, on the circuit board near the rear of player by the right side you have the output stage. (bunch of caps and stuff leading towards the wires that go to the RCA jacks)

Near the very end of the output stage right before the wires, you will see four little flat black cylinders (about 1/2 a centimeter high) with these circuit board markers:

T109, T111, T112, T110

These are the mutting transistors. All you have to do is clip these off. I was lazy and just moved each one back and forth until the metal weakend and broke off. Make certain no metal shavings are left touching anything when your done. Also make certain that none of the three traces that attached to the mutties are touching each other or anything else for that matter.

That's all you have to do.

The down side? you have to make certain to turn on the CD player before your AMP because it will send pops through. Sometimes there are clicks between tracks too.

Tah Dah.
