Hello I have a pair of Muse model 300 amplifiers and all the pictures of the back of these amps show that there is a resistor across the xlr jack , can any one enlighten me what this is for and do I need this on my amplifiers?
Brown black brown? 100 ohms? Prevents pickup of RF on those inputs. If driven by a suitable preamp, mixer or line level program source, you do not need it. If powered up without input, you may. Lots of RF in the air these days. A cellphone tower within a mile of nearly all the population.
