Hi Guys. I just got this crazy idea. Is it possible to build a 20 to 24 inch ribbon whose structure was such that it could be used in a cars a pillar?
See, i was in a BMW today that the guy had bulit a line array of tweeters in his pillars! I know, i know and yes it did sound like ***. But it got me thinking. A 24" or so Ribbon that went down below 2k ! Now that would be an accomplishment.
Pipe Dream ?! Or plausible?

I have used Neo 8's in a car before.I had them molded into the A pillars.Had them crossed over at 700Hz to 5 1/4s in the doors.A very good sounding system!

I think a planar magnetic would work fine- but a true ribbon would be too fragile. You would need to be careful about dispersion, as they tend to have limited verticle dispersion and you are sitting closer than you would in a home environment.
