Recently I saw a multi deck volume pot that looked like an alps blue velvet on a few of the posts.
Where can I get this or any multi deck volume pot? Thanks for the help.

Thanks Peter.
I may be missing something, I only see stereo pots on percyaudio.com. Im looking for something on the order of six decks, or three stereo decks. You had a picture of one that had a few on it when you were describing how to extend the pots shaft with a plastic tube in the tools post.
Thank you for your help.

The likelyhood of finding a 6 deck pot is extremely low. There is a company that will assemble you one for about $125. If you want I will try to find their name.
You might try contacting Elma directly, they will sell you samples.
Also DACT Goldpoint are selling multiple deck attenuators/switches but prices are rather high.

That's what I had assumed but then I saw a few pictures of them on this forum. I know that alps makes a 6 ganged motorized pot but none of their distributers have them. I also don't know if it is one of their quality pots or not.
the product number is 16816MGA04 from alps
I guess because I saw pictures I just assumed that someone somewhere was selling them.
Thanks for the help.

Edit: We posted at the same time 🙂 thanks for the info Peter.

Hi, you can get some six gang panasonic pots at the sight below, but these are very high quality parts and are very expensive for the one you want.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
I was waiting for someone to bring that up.
I know that there will be too many opinions to count, and maybe this has already been covered (if so please excuse and direct). What are peoples opinions on the digital volume controls? I head an NAD with a digital control and when it scanned it made a high pitched whine.
Thanks for the help all.

Did some searching and have not heard very good things about the digital pots.
Took apart a BlueVelvet and noticed that I would be very easy to combine multiple Bluevelvets together. Ill do a drawing soon, but at $17 for a stereo pot from partsconnexion I think Ill give it a go soon. that only $52 for a six ganged blue velvet!
thanks for the help people. thoughts?

I was going to suggest disassembling many pots to make one based on prior experience, seeing how they looked awfully modular when I took apart multi-deck pots before.
The hard part would be finding some skiiiiny screws long enough to hold the thing together, or if it's not held together by screws, figuring out how to adapt the current assembly schem to stacked units...

6 Bournes Mod-Pot sections can be assembled using threaded rod instead of screws. You would have to drill out the threads on all sections and use nuts. The proper threaded rod is available.

-The blue velvet has a hole in the back that is covered by a label so the original screws will hold together one section even after the mod. I had planned on just gluing a long plate to the top of all of the pots to hold them together. In fact I wont really be taking much apart. I will just be cutting each pots shaft short and fixing it to the spindle on the back of the next pot with epoxy. Really basic, really simple, rather long 🙂

-Im excited about the bournes pots. I have a few of the Blue velvets around so I think Ill try those out first but the bournes sounds like a little more of a long term solution. Thanks.

I like the idea of threaded rod for long-term physical security. I guess epoxy would be just as good. Make sure you get them all lined up right, WRT the resistance, so you have them all at, say, zero ohms at the same time. Careful with epoxy on the shafts getting in the guts of the pot though.
