Hello!
Recently I saw in internet that someone build MTM Cabinet using this speakers:
2x Scan Speak Illuminator WU18 https://www.scan-speak.dk/datasheet/pdf/18wu-8741t00.pdf
1x Seas tweeter https://www.seas.no/images/stories/excel/pdfdataheet/e0011_t25cf002_millennium_datasheet.pdf
I managed to download some photos to show to you and to discus with you.
What is your opinion? Do You think that they will match and sound very good, or just basic?
Also I dont have schemes of the box and filters, but it would be interested first of all to see what do you suggest me to do - should I change to the classic MTM Seas project from 2000 year? --> https://deskfi.ru/products/akustika-na-dinamikah-seas-odin-mk3

Hello, Yes I have seen some designs mixing SEAS tweeters and Scanspeak woofers or the contrary. The design you present to us is a high end speaker 🙂 sure it may sounds good.
Some people prefer use paper drivers because the magnesium cone make "rust" on the surface. My magnesium drivers don't rust and sound very neutral. The magnesium could age badly after 20 years according to my observations.
If you can design the crossover you have multiple choices of 6/7" woofers and tweeters to design a MTM. The more simple crossover I saw and I done too is with 2xMW16P and TW29R, good price for a high end speaker...

Thank You!, I see that a lot of people love that mid range speaker WU18, what make it so desired. I see, 1/3 of new speakers from hi-fi use it..
I would consider a 2.5 design rather than a MTM. Use the upper midbass WU18 for all the mid- and low- freq. And the lower WU18 for just the sub 1000hz parallel with the upper midbass for baffle step compensation. You get the clarity of a 2 way with the bass of a 3 way.
Hmm, this sound a really good idea, but I do not have any schemes of filter and of the box for them.
Yes perhaps because it has an underhung motor ? You have some open kits not MTM.Thank You!, I see that a lot of people love that mid range speaker WU18, what make it so desired. I see, 1/3 of new speakers from hi-fi use it..

Unfortunately I don't see open kit with MTM. Note I was interested by this driver and I made a lot search on it 😉
I have had very good results with a floorstanding MTM speaker, so I suggest you go ahead.
Have a look:
The SEAS ER18RNX are superb drivers, so it's hard to say if the Scanspeak will be better. I will say that at present I'm voicing my new build Purifi/Be MTMs and so far, though I'm getting somewhere, the SEAS based MTM sound better in some ways, they really are excellent, everyone likes them.
Using the ER18RNX, starting with my design or something like it, using the Millenium tweeter, could be very interesting indeed. Of course (unless you have a SET amp) and with a different tweeter, the crossover will need to be different, but some work in Xsim and some trial and error voicing should get you there.
Have a look:
I measured Zout at the time using signal generator and varying load resistors; worked out as 1.9 ohm on the 4 ohm output. I forget what frequency I used, I didn't do a proper check at different frequencies, but with one resistor load I swept the freq and noticed very little change except where expected, and I forget where the LF and HF started to drop but it wasn't abnormal.

Madisound does have an MTM design crossover with this woofer: https://www.madisound.com/library/18w8531g-x2-t25cf002-mtm-passive-crossover-design/
You will have to adjust for a different tweeter.
