Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask if anyone here built a mouth extender for the tapped horn MTH-30. I have 2 of these and I need a little more SPL or a little more extension! Thank you very much.

Model it in HornResp... but, IMHO, I don't think you can just add 'barn doors' to a TH in the way you can with a folded horn.
With a 70 cm deep and 3000 square cm frontresonator you get this response.
Grey curve is the MTH30 with a B&C 12PS100. Black curve is the same MTH30 and driver but with the frontresonator added.
I found the Hornresp sim online. I have no idea if it is the right one or if the B&C 12PS100 is a suitable driver.

Horn Extender/Wave-guide for TH
That said, as good as Hornresp is, IIRC it did not match measured results for adding "barn doors" when I made that post. David has added many features to Hornresp since that post, don't know if any of them would account for the differences.

Horn Extender/Wave-guide for TH
Thanks weltersys for that link. I had forgot about the pictures, simulations and real life test and measurements of a THAM15 with a large frontresonator as I proposed in my previous post in this thread.
The frontresonator might be large but can be made foldable and easy to pack as a flat pack when not in use or during transport. It does seam to add between 4 and 6 db of usable output.

Could you lay the subs on their side, mouths facing each other, and build the resonator as a panel on top of both?
This could be space efficient for transport

IIRC someone [Art?] did this already with good results [or maybe it was dual Danley Labhorns?]; regardless, it's functionally the same as this early, fine performing dual wide range W.E. 16A 'pancake' horn, so how large and how you shape the panel and/or angle the subs will set polar response: W.E. 16a - Google Search

Wow! I tried it and it sounded terrible, very one-noted. Perhaps I should've experimented a bit more.
What "it" did you try?I tried it and it sounded terrible, very one-noted.

Looks great, extension & sensitivity

What "it" did you try?
Extending the horn, using the same expansion. Tried it at 1 metre and then cut back 5cm each time. The boominess, and 'one-noted-ness' got less and less with each cutback.
In the end I gave up and just corner mounted instead... less woodwork and space needed.

could you help me to build a mouth extender for the tapped horn MTH-30? or tell me the steps that I should follow? thanks
