MP7770 is a class-d amp made by monolithic power systems.

It offers 2x45W Stereo or 1x90W mono PBTL into 8 Ohm, powered by a 36V= single supply.
With an Rdson of 100mR it is between ST (200mR) and TI (50..70mR).
This is a free running hysteretic PWM, similar to UCD with some post filter feedback and quite a good noise figure.
Looks interesting to drive the speaker of a guitar combo.

I do not find any readily made boards available nor any threads dealing with this chip - is it really totally unknown?

i attempted to buy some several years ago and ran into resistance from Arrow or Advent cant remember. in fact they were hostile about it.
Guess mouser has it now but I remember spending a lot of time looking and it was a possibility ,it looked good.

I was fearing that it was going to be discontinued by the attitude of the distributors so I don't know.

Mhh, it is available and I think I will do some prototype board to evaluate.
