I am looking to mount a pair of JBL 4412 speakers from my ceiling in my listening area. Since that was the way that studios generally mounted them, how did they go about it? This will be in a 50's era ranch style so I do have attic access to get to the ceiling joists over the room.
Is/was there a company that made mounting braces for this sort of thing? I could make something out of threaded bar and a wooden structure to hold the speaker, but I wanted to use something that I could adjust. I also don't really want to drill holes in the speaker cabinets if I can help it.
