How do you mount drivers if you're using 1/4'' plywood? Most screws are much longer than 1/4''
This is a very small speaker, in case you're wondering why only 1/4'' baltic birch plywood.

I usually run a bead of silicone sealer around the baffle hole, where the speaker basket touches the wood. This assures a solid mount, being the thin wood doesn't allow for a real tight grip without stripping out. Avoids rattles too..
How about "T" nuts or Blind nuts they are sometimes called with machine thread screws
What he said

Another vote for t-nuts, also known as "nut-serts" Recommend gluing or stapling over after initial installation, so they don't back out when you need to pull the driver, and make it hard to get the driver out.
How would T nuts work? They're absolutely huge for the driver mount holes!
I remember seeing them as small as 4-40 for model airplanes and you could grind them down if they are too long.😉
As Enzo mentioned earlier, unless you're planning on frequent re and re of drivers, with a decent BB ply careful pilot drilling and use of machine screws or even fine pitch truss head sheet metal screws should suffice
you can mount the "t-nut backwards. inserts your bolt and and fasten with a small dab of yellow hot glue or your favorite multi-purpose adhesive (epoxy, polyurethane, silicone etc.) so as to adhere the flat of the t-nut to your substrate. Let it set, remove your bolt, install your drivers. ..yellow hot glue fills voids, has aliphatic resin (for the wood) and sets quickly.........
just looked at PE and they have some t-nuts that have a small offset of the spike tips and beginning of the nut and would not sink deeply with gentle mounting. the same nut has an irregular top as do others that would help with mounting backwards with adhesive.
