mounting a tonearm to a turntable

Hello,
I have been using a fidelity research 64S for a few decades now combined with an SPU cartridge on a Sota turntable. I wanna move to a Scheu turntable similar to the one in the picture.
I use a stainless steel '' collar '' to attach the arm to the turntable. It is a big improvement over the usual mounting method seen on tone arms.
Probably i will get myself a 12 inch Groovemaster arm. There is quiet some distance between the mounting area ( acryl console ') and the top of the platter.
So i will ask a co worker to make something to '' grab'' the ax of the arm. If i am correct the ax is stainless steel. Instead of a collar as seen in the attachment i can also ask him to make to rectangular pieces of metal ( stainless steel or alumium? ) with each a half circle taken out by a milling machine. Attaching these two pieces together will give a real tight grip.
Now i wonder if i should make 2 pieces similar height as the platter and attach them to the console which is acryl with lead damping inside. The motor unit is completely seperate. The platter is larger than normal as can be seen.
Now i wonder if i should add something like a layer of lead or sorbothane between the mounting device and the console. Making it from alumium could add some vibration control?
The SPU is notorious for getting tone arm into trouble if they are not sturdy enough. The right mounting should help the tone arm controlling the SPU. Should i make it sturdy and allowing unwanted vibrations to move '' into the console ''
Anu ideas are welcome.
Greetingas, Eduard
