Hello,
I'm looking for a very basic tube amp design, it will be used as an high-school project for my son.
I saw a very cheap and simple design from antique audio (8W,99$), and I would like something similiar.
thank you.

Going to be something SE, say, 6V6 with a 6AV6 or 6C4 preamp. All commonly available parts, if it works right (it should) it will sound pretty good within the 1-5W max. output, depending on how you wire it.

How about Gary Kaufman's 6EM7 SET. Simple, cheap, one tube (envelope) per channel and probably very nice sounding as the 6EM7 is a peach.

Or even simpler (set it and forget it), use a resistor in place of a battery.
I don't have a ready schematic but ... *digs through schematics folder* ah what the heck. I'll cut it for 'ya:

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
