mosfet choice

I am replacing the mosfets in my hybrid power amp. The originals are 10n16 & 10p16 Exicons. I can replace them with the same mosfets, or with the 20p series (for about 2x the price) or buz900/905 for a little more than the 10n/p's. I would like to know whether there will be any sonic advantage in deviating from the originals? (I will not have the luxury of being able to match them.)

The 20 versions are double-die so have twice the capacitance. This may impact the sound but I doubt it.

As for the BUZ, I doubt very much you will notice any difference.

Those Hybrid amps are notoriously temperamental. I wouldn't put anything else in than the original.

these are all laterals and from what I read all are based on the original Hitachi design, maybe even produced under licence.

Don't use the double unless you are prepared to debug any problems.
