modify the tse118 boxes to reflex + horn

I have old box lem cx800 (clone tse118) I want to increase the depth of the bass by changing driver and increasing enclosure + reflex.

can the idea work?

this a simulation with rcf lf18g401 and 180 liters of enclosure:

180 liters is too much, I have to find a driver with lower vas and that does not cost too much

applying 1000w 40-60 hz increases the level too much, it does not remain flat sending the driver into displacement

The idea of a ported cabinet with a band pass horn is OK, as your simulation shows.

A driver with a smaller VAS and more than 9mm Xmax will probably cost more and require more power to achieve the SPL the RCF LF18G401 achieves in your simulation.

The Simulation is in 0.5 pi which is a speaker in a 3 sided corner . Most bass sims are in 2.0 pi for a speaker on the floor.

You say the sim is a 180 litre box box but you have a 180 litre rear chamber and an overall cabinet size of 318.5 litres,

So a bit of work needed yet. Keep going!

I have had some good times playing with Bandpass horns. You just need quite a lot of them.

I would like a 100-120 liter chamber (including the original chamber)
and i would like the driver not to displace with 1000w
