Mobil Sound System

Dear everyone,

I'm writing on behalf of my somewhat fuzzy knowledge of electronics and the need to gain clearity for a specific project.

I'm aiming to assemble one of those mobil sound systems. I need a car-battery power a set of active speakers with a laptop as an audio source.

So first question: How can I read how much power (in Watt, or in volts and amps) a set of active speaker draw? What parts of the technical specifications tell you the power consumption of a set of speakers.

Second: If one plugs (with a proper fuse of course) a car battery, say rated for 12v 60 Ah to a set of active speakers, will the battery then "automatically" adjust its amps out to the power-consumption of the speakers? Meaning that a speakers with higher wattage will just shorten the "play-time" / "life-time" of the battery?

I'm attempting to get this together within two weeks in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) so the availability of equipment is somewhat crud. Essentially it just needs to work, hi-fi and finesse is not (this time) of great importance.

Thanks in advance!
Simen
