Mitsumi AM/FM tuner module in Pioneer Rcvr

Hope this is the right place.....
I’ve scrapped a Pioneer VSX 917V receiver. It was beyond economical repair.

The AM/FM tuner module intreagues me and I want to fire it up. I have built PLL tuners before.

The module is a Mitsumi FAE387-A11. See photos. It seems to be the whole deal except for the display. Not sure how Pioneer derives the front panel display.

The pioneer schematic reveals VCC and audio outputs L & R. I’d kill for a schematic but don’t believe I’ll ever find this. A block diagram and perhaps pin names less cryptic than Pioneer lists would be wonderful. I won’t use the AM.

Does anybody know where I might find any data on such a module?

This is a module made by Mitsumi. I am not aware of any data for the module. Pioneer used to supply a replacement and there was no schematic available.

I have the Pioneer schematic but not for the module. I found data for similar looking modules by Mitsumi. (More pins on the connector). Thanks for your post.

Can you read the chip number? There may be application circuits available.

Ahhhh....a thinker

The chip is marked LV23003V (next line) 6PK0 I see no manufacturer,s logo.

I am replying before I searched for this number. Hopefully it is not a house proprietary number. If I can find it, it won’t reveal the whole module but it will be a giant step forward. Thanks

There seems to be 000, 001, and 002 variations; I assume the 003 is yet another in the same family. I only found useful info on the 000 version.
