Hi all
I am seeking a datasheet for the AM/FM Automotive Tuner Modules made by Microtune, specifically part number 1383EFC.
I have the two page product brief but it does not have the pinouts, application data or communication protocols.
Microtune was acquired by Zoran, which seems to be a subsidiary of CSR, in December 2012. The Zoran website is not accessible and I can find no reference to the product on the CSR website.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you can name a car radio where this module was used, parhaps you can find its schematics on the net... But I guess manufacturers keep the control command syntax for themselves...
1383EFC Pinout, Command, Datasheet Reference
Hi Bibliophile,
I bought a bunch of 1383EFC when they were $2ea.
But months drifted by before I thought of opening the can
and having a look at its innards
1383 has 22 Pins and contains the following Atmel ICs
U4255BM-N AM-FM Radio
U4256BM-N Frequency Synthesiser
Datasheets are readily available for both chips
Datasheet for U4255BM-N specifies
Commands for the Three-Wire Bus and also that it it 3V
An Application Circuit that is almost identical to 1383EFC
Many of 1393's pins go straight to pins on the Atmel ICs
which made tracing the tracks easy for most pins
I think I've figured it out; pin 18 goes to one of a pair of transistor flip-flops, I guess which hopefully are latching STOP/INT
1383 U4255 U4256
1 4,25 11,20 Ground
2 AM antenna
3 4,25 11,20 Ground
4 FM antenna
5 9 Field Strength/Meter
6 10 Adjacent
7 11 MPX/AM Audio
8 31 Deviation via resistor divider 1k-390?
9 20 IF2 Output
10 40 Multipath
11 22 10nF to U4255/22 MX2LO
12 4,25 11,20 Ground
13 17 18 Enable 3V
14 18 17 Clock 3V
15 19 16 Data Bus 3V
16 42 6 Supply 9.5V 120mA
17 5 DAC3
18 21 INT from FF
19 9 Switch 3
20 10 Switch 4
21 NC
22 4,25 11,20 Ground
Cheers,
Ron

Thanks Ron.
For some reason I did not get an email notification of your post.
I'll download those datasheets and have a play.
