Its a shame that they are perpetuating a brainwashed consumer ideology when the whole idea of Christmas was about giving presents to needy poor children. This is marketing, you are watching an Ad, there was nothing spontaneous about this at all except for the poor consumers trapped there.

Freax,
I think you need to watch Christmas Carol..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvdMjXhPGd0
Its normally the rich that have the time to consider those in need...Not always however...But what is the alternative..everyone in need?
Remember that the people working at the store have jobs..and no matter how you look at it without jobs..your on the bread line..
NB I don't think consumerism is good but it depends on the motive of those "That can"..
NB I'm not rich either and work for a living..🙂..and yes I get bitter sometimes.. however life is what it is..you can make it hell on earth or try to make it better.

I'm not against consumerism I am however against its exploitation of its consumers to perpetuate a viral video which has used us as a method to advertise.
I'm not going to express my viewpoints on consumerism here, you can checkout my personal website for those.
You should have a merry christmas too. Btw I saw a christmas movie recently that was quite nice, an animated one, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1430607/
A very fun movie I thought.

What are your thoughts on the final spirit in the Christmas carol?
The film is as you know from the book.. written when times were very hard..
As you know the spirits in the film live today as strong as they were then..
They are in the hearts and minds of people..If you don't know the story..
They are represented in every culture in the world in one form or another.

If as nothing else but a piece of well orchestrated "street-art/ flash mob" whatever you care to call it, this is just too cute

You know a paticular component manufacturer sent me some French solder before they shut down for christmas and sent it Fed Ex so I would get it today instead of next year.
I might have to choose a different supplier, this kind of business practice cannot be healthy or sustainable.
*Goes back to smoking his grinch pipe* *puff* *puff* Humbug I tell you! Humbug!

Mr.Scrooge Vs Consumerism - Shady Tree Projects
Here are my thoughts:
Mr.Scrooge Vs Consumerism - Shady Tree Projects
I found your résumé very interesting..The part you missed "I assume" which you sort of portray is mans inhumanity to man and the things around him. The problem with all this is what reality you personally believe.
Reading I notice you think the world can be saved..perhaps it can't..then again someone once said to me its all about quality of life..now quality of life is what you personally believe and that forms the reality you live in..the idea that a glass is half full or half empty or the other mans grass is always greener than mine.
Someone once said we have free will, we can create heaven or hell in our minds and manifest this in the reality around us!
What is it that drives people to destroy the things we want and love?
It is said that without light there cannot be shadow. This is true, however this is also reflected in our minds. It would appear you cannot have one without the other either would seem to produce an imbalance.
The things we believe are altered by what we are told..everything we think we know is put before us or told to us. The free will we think we have is manipulated.
Things are not always as they seem..man/woman can create great good or great evil..however the source is not here its in the mind. Belief systems and education..one of the things discussed in the film is thought carries no weight..but actions do! In both your résumé and the film the common link is us (what is wrong with mankind)..the answer is simple..
I believe wherever man walks he should try to cast a light for the good of all (That means everything man/woman, animal, plant, earth) However something makes that very difficult to do..Its cause and effect! Or in other words whatever you do it will be wrong..🙂 and this I believe is the reflection of your résumé!

One other comment,
If the Earth could be saved..ie taking into account the end of the sun..
What other species other than man could do it?
Perhaps we are here to save the Earth and everything else? (But man is to infantile to realise it yet)

🙂..Just my opinion,
If you could reflect upon your answer..it is based upon your belief system.
It is a reflection from your own experiences.. which is a good thing..however imagine for a moment, someone living in a disaster zone where there is nowhere to go and no forest for hundreds of miles. Where the parents can only teach from their belief system and limited education. Its not anyone's fault its just that as I have found that until you challenge what you think you know and get a realisation that things you believe are based upon a self created reality.
They do not know about the real world..perhaps as we don't..we can only reflect upon our own understanding..
The children that have nothing, the ones that don't know they could have everything, and the ones that think the world owes them something.
If it were possible to stand in each situation with knowledge of the others what would you then say?
To a child dying without medication, the person taking their last breath on a battle field or the youth of today that as always are split into the destroyers and creators.
Its a bit like going to the beach if you live in the city and you sort of become aware that the sea is still there and it hasn't got four walls around it, its not a theme park its real..then you return to the city and watch the video of the sea and its like a dream world that no longer exists.

Unless the "arbitrary" decision to expedite transit incremented the landed cost exorbitantly, I'd have it as a "good thing" - and exactly how can you judge whether this practice is sustainable for the particular vendor?
If it's the environment / economic impact of the entire production / life cycle, do calculate the precise value of those for all purchases, including those for basic sustenance -or for that matter the cost of generating the electricity required to power the devices through which this particular social media operates?

Relaxxxxxx.
I was being comedic and pretending to be the Grouch of Christmas.
You really thought that I act and behave in that manner?

Well at least Wal Mart left everyone off from Christmas eve until 6am the day after Christmas this year.
