I have one amp that stays on all the time and one that plain doesn't work.
The one that works still sounds really clean to my ears...
But are they worth fixing today?
If so, who can fix them?
Many thanks!
Mark

you likely have issues with your house keeping board. yes they are not only worth keeping and fixing they are very much worth upgrading. You have there a dual diff diamond front end and John Wright can build you a cascoded second stage along with other mods they can easily stand along side amplifiers in the 10 K range. Contact John at :: museatex :: John owns Museatex. Best regards Moray James.
Thank you Moray !
Much better news than expected. I will contact John Wright.
What do you mean by 'dual diff diamond front end' ?
And how does a cascoded second stage help?
Sorry if these are ignorant questions.....
Best regards indeed, Mark

Your MTR101 is very much like like a Luxman L58a there are schematics on line. The front end of you 101 mono blocks are dual differential j-fets which is a very good front end about as good sounding as it gets in my book. See what John has to say. I hope you not only keep them and repair them but that you upgrade them they can be the last amplifiers that you will ever need to buy. Best regards Moray James.
