Should you prime and paint the parts then assemble them with glue (or liquid nails), or assemble them first and prime and paint the parts subsequently?
I guess it depends a little bit what you are assembling, but i would glue first, then do all the finishing. Depending on the glue you're planning to use it may not stick well on painted surface.
I'd glue together then wait a good long while then sand down joints and paint. Any glue I've used continues to shrink for a couple of weeks, which will cause sunken lines in the finished paint job.
Bondo will fill those lines nicely before you paint.
Doing the proper prep is crucial before painting especially concerning sanding and priming.
