While I have not seen this machine in person, the video is familiar, and somewhere on the net there is some information on its construction.
I have seen real steam calliopes which can be automated and quite complex as well as other machines that are essentially a small band.

Particularly, the video of Honda needs thousands of hour-men to prepare the entire chain of movements and who can warranty that during the filming the whole thing will not fail? It need an extremely good synchronization to be real, IMHO.
I'm sorry, I guess I'm just too old school traditional to accept that raucous jumbled noise as music. I don't hear any melody, so it must be what's called "new music". Personally I would be ashamed to post "music" like that. I think anyone with slightly above average manual skills could design and construct electrical-mechanical devices to strike a percussion instrument. I was doing things like that in grade school, albeit on a smaller scale. I think the original poster's link, which I have see before, is far more artistically creative then this one.

The Honda ad was a cheat and was actually done in 2 sections. But was using real honda parts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cog_(advertisement)

What I want to mean is the following. Suppose that by an unpredictable error, the tube with the 2 mufflers, don't go to the end of it supposed path while filming. Or one of the 4 balls deviate from its trajectory. Same result.

if you read the wikipedia articel they had to do a LOT of takes to get it in the bag. You should for once enjoy the few humans who don't cheat and do it all in post processing.
Ok, I agree. But each time the think is put to work, represents time, and time is money. And if it works as they want, say, in the 1345 time, the others are money lost/wasted unsuccessfuly.
