They make a very thin carpet material that is frequently used to cover guitar speaker and PA cabinets. Also, frequently used for car Subwoofer cabinets.

This is a very thin indoor-outdoor carpet and is frequently sold for automotive applications.

The only difficult area is the corners, so it is best to cover the corners with corner guards similar to this -

I would assume similar products, both carpet and corners, should be available in Mumbai.

The alternative is to cover the speakers in vinyl leather-like material. The better quality vinyl, the more durable it will be.

The final alternative is to simply give them a good heavy coat of flat black, gray, or charcoal colored paint. I would suspect a 'plastic', epoxy, poly based paint would be the most durable.

Just a few thoughts.
