They have the Alpair 12, Alpair 7, and the CHR-70, each in both colors.

Maybe I will have to go for a drive after work one of these days. I am still kicking myself for not picking up some FF85s.
Mad's prices on the CHR are very aggressive
I still have FF85KeN.

The Alpair 12 looks delicious! I just bought and continue to enjoy the TB 1808 so will have to wait a while before ordering these. May have to smuggle these into the house somehow but am running out of hiding spaces. Looks worth the trouble tho! I was happy to see 89db efficiency rather than mid 80s of their other drivers. Damn, the 8" full range driver market has several great choices!

well FWIW, the last time I checked the Madisound site, there was this note:
We will stock the new higher QTS version when it becomes available. Sorry, No ETA yet.
but let's not hold our breath waiting for that - Mark could well have several new models or generation revisions by that time
I got a pair of alpair 12's arriving any day, but it may take 2-4 weeks before one is in a box or an open baffle.

Yeah I saw that and thought this could be years from now.
This is a good fit for Madisound and it would allow me to support a Wisconsin business. My earlier purchases of Fostex have been from them.
Right now I am considering how to change over my router setup.

Picked up a pair today. Nice to see the cases of drivers and to pick out the color in person. Does anyone have an idea for a sealed enclosure with a .7 Q, suitable for a FAST type of setup?
Which color did you go with and why not just build Scott's Pencil 12, it looks easy enough and prob pretty good given Scott's track record?

A7, A12 or CHR?

The 12, Dave. Probably eventually to go in the 1858 H-frame OB, but I'd like to just stick 'em in a box to break in, in the upstairs system.
Here's what I know so far: in gold, they sure are pretty. - Pat
Would there be a loss (or gain) of efficiency/sensitivity with the mar-ken 12 vs. the pensil-12? Any fq resp simulations?
Differences would be pretty much limited to the nature & extension in the bass. The 2 designs are really aimed at 2 different needs based on their size.
In theory, the Pensil12, due to the larger box, has the potential for lower bass, but it may not be quite as controlled (also because it is large)... until someone builds both and can listen side-by-side it will only be guesswork (the Mar-Ken12, in any of its guises, has yet to be built, people are quite pleased with their Pensils)
This box sims to an F10 of 45-50 Hz,

The Pencils are well controlled according to builder reports, & they were certainly designed to be -they're a hybrid cabinet damped like a transmission line, so the load is fairly unreactive.
