Inspired by Curt Campbell's Halcyon design, I'm starting to do my own take on a WAW.
Main FR driver I'm starting with is the Markaudio CHP-90.
I'm currently considering two woofers to pair it with:
The paper version of the Dayton Audio RS225
or
The Satori MW19P
Ideas on configurations would be 2x4ohm in series or 2x8ohms in parallel as either a TMM or MTM.
Working thru modeling in Speaker Sim to get a grasp of how the combinations would play together sensitivity-wise and some preliminary x-over slopes/points. The RS225P will be limited on bass output with the usual sealed or ported cabinets. Haven't investigated a TL as I'm new to designing for them. The MW19P has quite a disparate price tag, might be other options that are cheaper.
Anyone got some ideas/advice/suggestions/input to go off and consider?

If you mean the rs225-8 or -4 (not the P), XRK has a well proven WAW design using this driver with both a sealed and TL cabinet design. Nice choice math-wise 👍 as an averaged 380 Hz XO allows a < 1/4 WL woofer spacing when jammed together with the FR centered beside them (mirrored) for a < 1/4 WL system summation = ~large point source plus in theory allows max ~continuous power for the FR for 'sustains' + even more for 'fast' transients.

When MA released the CHP-90, I thought it'd be a good driver to play with in the Halcyon concept. With the 6+ month wait to get them in, really stubborn about them now.
Maybe 2 x SB Acoustics SB20PFCR30-4 in series. $54 a piece @ Madisound. Would make a nice 8 ohm load. Might have enough sensitivity that the BSC will be easy to account for.
I'm set on helping out any FR driver with a woofer section. My listening tastes tend towards big orchestral stuff.
Having built planars and electrostatics, attempting to do similar execution but with the advantages of a conventional cone driver. Would like to push the x-over freq. down into the bass region and avoid phase issues in the vocal region. I dig my Halcyons but want to experiment to see what the engineering trade-offs buy compared to what Curt Campbell chose.
I think I'm going to try those 4-ohm SB 8" woofers. Cheap enough to take a risk on.
