Hi,
I have a Marshall v100 Model 8100 from the 90th... After years I turned it on to play... There are several problems with the volume and the distortion on OD2 (I hope Thats the high Gabin Distortion) Channel.
At first the clean Channel was very quite and the Distortion was very low. also Every poti made crackling Noises. So I changed all poti to New ones.
I also changed the BDB65C, TIP29C and BDB64C Transistors. After that the clean sound is louder. But the Distortion on the od2 channel is missing totally, its more like a crunchy clean sound...
Any ideas, someone?
Best regards,
Christian

I would be thinking switch/jack contacts and capacitors. Not transistors.
Thats what I checked also (I forgot to mention). I desoldered the jacks and gave them a bit sanding... I also desoldered all the Big Elko capacitors and checked them with a capacitance tester... They all Look fine...
I checked that already. I gave all Input jacks a sanding after desoldering them. Them I desoldered also Big Elko capacitors and mesured them with a capacitance tester. They all Look fine.
Did you check the send/return insert jack? (rear panel)
Did you check the send/return insert jack?
Yes, I read about that. So that were the first I checked.
