I have since a few years a MARANTZ CD5004.
The sound has never been at the top .
The dac is a CS4392 and it is not easy to replace it directly .The I2S is a specific format and not directly compatible with
actual dac .
Hestetically it is not ugly
so i decided to transform it in a CD player transport a the top
Attached you can see a document with some modifications .
If you are interested i can complete it with all the mods.
