I am a new member, and although I have some experience with DIY projects, I've never attempted a full recap. I am considering recapping my Marantz 1030, which has some annoying line noise coming out of the right-channel. It also comes through the "remote" speakers (of course), and seems to be much worse through headphones.
My first though was that it was the pots that were causing the noise. So, my first action was to pop the knobs off and spray the pots with Deoxit and work them around. I plugged the amp in again last night, this has had no effect at all.
This leads me to believe that there is more going on, and rather than trying to diagnose the problem and fix the problem part, I figure it's about time to, 1) replace the pots (if I can find them) and 2) replace the caps when I have time.
I have been able to find schematics of the amp around, but I haven't been able to find a service manual (for free) with a parts list, or at least one that claims to have a parts list. Does the full service manual contain the full parts list, and if so, is it even worth buying (most seem to go for $15-$20). I can get all the cap's values off the circuit boards, but I there's bound to be a few things that aren't labeled - including the pots.
Any recommendations? I've got pics of the inside too, if anyone is interested.

Nice Amp
Look at www.hifiengine.com. They have schematics for this amp even more schematics of others too, easy to register.

re: nice amp
Yeah, I've already downloaded the schematic there. Not only does the schematic not include voltages of a lot of the capacitors, it's a terrible resolution. I would really like something that contains a complete parts list, or at least something with more detail than JUST the schematic.
