Hi All!
I got a set of Markaudio Tozzi One CHN50s a few months age for desktop use. Both my partner and I love the sound but both agree that they don't have enough bass extension and could be smoother so I've been given the go ahead to get get some MAOP11s (go all out she said 😀 ). However, there is a caveat. We don't have space for towers and for all intents and purposes, these would be treated as (largish) desktop or bookshelf speakers. I have access to a cnc router and 3d printer and am pretty handy with them, but I would like to get some input about the design itself given the requirements.
tldr;
What boxes should I make?
Thanks,
Nathan

Dear wdyn1,
This is my MAOP11 box.

I thought the MAOP11 is the same as the Pluvia 11 on T/S but with a better cone (more DDR, less distortion). So most Pluvia 11 cabinets can be used for them without adaptation.
I did once do some simulations with the specs provided by a friend (who bought a pair) of a simple reflex for this driver a few months ago, and came to a 17L cabinet with a 5cm diameter port of 28cm for a tuning to 45Hz. I did not do the designing further as the owner of those drivers wanted to do it himself (but did not do it yet as far as i know, due to covid and the lack of quality birch plywood down here).

Basically, it's a Pluvia 11 with the oxidised cone, custom 8ohm coils and hand-built to very close tolerances. So it should work (more or less) in the existing Pluvia 11 boxes, such as the smaller version of The King of the Swingers if you have a voltage source amplifier http://wodendesign.com/downloads/King-of-Swingers.pdf
If you found it a little overdamped, the vent can be shortened to 68mm long, raising tuning by a few Hz & flattening the alignment a little. The larger boxes are preferred if you have an amplifier with a higher output impedance, or wish to insert a small amount of series R in the circuit.

Thanks nandappe,
Could I ask what thickness material you used?

The MAOP 11(Pluvia 11/A11ms) are not bass kings in a reflex box (a large reflex for these is any over 9 litres). One has to go to a TL or horn to get deep bass out of them.
I have not heard the MAOP 11, i found the P11 (even EnABLed) did not have the DDR/resolution of the Alpairs. It would be interesting to see if the special treatment and attention this driver makes in that respect.
Do note, that despite Mark’s enthusiasm for the Tozzi, i am unimpressed by the quality of construction. I have mine away.
Try CHN-50 in Frugel-Horn Lite. It won’t move as much air, but wil go similaruly as low as M11/P11/A11 in a reflex box.

Dear wdyn1,
If you make it with a 3D printer, please customize each value appropriately.
Please don't forget the option to have a different type of design.

Thanks for the info.
My small apartment won't support Frugel-Horns as much as I'd like to have them. Also, I'm not going to be throwing any raves any time soon 😀 so I'm not looking for bass monsters either, down into the 40s would certainly suffice, but of course lower is better. Nor do I listen at loud volumes...
It's starting to sound like I might have been too eager on the MAOP11.
Given this criteria, do you have a recommendation?
* 3m x 12m x 2.5m room
* Moderate listening volume ~90dB or less
* Not floorstanding, must be desktop or bookshelf
* Get into the ~mid 40s or lower
