Just bought a pair of Maggie SMGA’s. In good condition with no delamination.
Just a thought, has anyone every tried rewriting them using carbon fibre wire rather than aluminium?
Would that work? And would it be lighter?

volume of material is probably going to be and issue.
To get the same overall resistance the carbon will occupy a much larger volume/area than the aluminum wires.
Not completely sure but I think by mass the carbons electrical resistance is better than aluminum, BUT the aluminum is better resistivity than the carbon by volume so you may end up with a large volume of the carbon material which will no longer occupy the same physical space as the thin Al wires, and it will probably end up a structure with very different mechanical property's as well.

using a lighter material to wire a mid/tweeter section should not be of any concern but the bass panels depend upon the physical mass of the wire and the adhesive to lower the resonant point of the diaphragm so that they can make bass.
