A BUZ900 is a BUZ900 and must comply with the minimum specifications, if not it is mislabelled. The same goes for all semiconductors regardless of manufacturer.
For instance a Motorola 2N3055 is filled with silicon heat conductive material and an RCA type is not but the specifications were the same albeit the Motorola lasted longer under intense strain verging on overload.

A 2N3055 is a terrible example, the suppliers used completely different die designs and doping profiles. They had little in common beyond Vceo and Ic
In the case of the lateral mosfets, I think that we only have one fab left and even that is looking doubtful for the future.
Ebay NOS laterals are mostly remarked verticals, so avoid.
