I was looking around the web and found the NORCENT LM143SB lcd monitor( do a web search on it) It is xga only 250-1 contrast( not great not bad) only thing I cant find is its responce time. just a thought
i also am interested in one, their cheap on ebay! even the retail is good, 190$ at pricewatch.
I would liek to see one in action...
I would liek to see one in action...
yea 14" would be perfect size so the ends wouldnt be chopped off on a regular fresnel, also one benefit for buying it retail is according to pricewatch you can get it with free shipping , usually on ebay shipping on monitors is around 30.00 so to make it worth wile to buy something off ebay it would have to be 160 or less, granted thats still a " used Monitor" usually so Id say it would have to be 130.00 + shipping for myself to consider buying a used one. just my thoughts. and 250-1 I believe My proxima 9210 is 100-1 or 150-1 and that looks dammmmmmmn good so 250-1 would be just fine with me.
EDIT; LOL I just saw you said you would like to see one in action, not AUCTION. Misreading by me but yea still my logic applies........or so I think

Is this panel + deal for real?
Is this true.... $174.00 from Walmart with $8 shipping...what a deal!
All we need now are some schematics, or someone brave enough to take the plunge and rip it apart, LOL.

Hmm...I wonder if there is a way to get one from Walmart for free by claiming false advertising.
Or does Walmart have a newer version because those walmart specs are AMAZING!

sorry property..
Property, you're right...the Iiyama's have nothing to do with the Norcents.
The Norcents (or re-badged Acer's) don't seem to be available to us Non- North Americans, so one of our co-contributors kindly suggested an alternative 14" monitor that is available to us very cheaply.
But the specs look not so good...

Im gonna call a few local walmarts to see if they have this and what its specs are( I hope others will do the same also) and once I hear something I will post back in the thread, But even 250-1 contrast ratio isnt really that bad, My projector has 150-1 and It looks good to me.
Norcent LM143SB vs. Norcent LM143
Well I can't find any listings for a LM143 but there does seem to be a LM143SB and it doesn't look that hot, an ok 14" but nothing amazing. Also Norcent (on their own site) doesn't list a LM143 at all, not even in their support section. Seem kind of strange to me...you know the old saying...If something seems to be to good to be true...it usually is!! Also, if this is a re-badged Acer FP450 (200:1 CR & 60 ms Response Time) I'd definately stay away from it.
P.S: I e-mail norcent for specs, so we'll see what they have to say.

Re: sorry property..
The price is good though, it's bout 120 EUR. Seems that the CR you will get follows the function EUR:1 ...
It looks like that new 14" monitors aren't made anymore, just panels for the laptops :-(.
