I have two of these OY-15-5k in a 1967~ homebuilt stereo amp. I'm considering my options. What build would work with them?
According to the Lux catalog, the recommeded tubes are 6CA7, KT88, 2A3 and 300B, but unless you want to punch holes in the chassis and add a suitable filament transformer for them, you are probably better off sticking with the original Lux A2500 design, and change the output tubes to EL84/6BQ5 so you can still use the novel sockets.
Considering these are very high quality OPTs with lots of inductance in the primary, I would go for a design without NFB in order to get the most out of them...

As I see it, the schematic of the home built amp should be Lux Transformer kit KMQ 8.
If you can get 4 of 6R-A8, you can use also the power transformer and the choke too.
