My favorite amplifier started acting up about a year ago, nothing serious (I hope) but the input terminals act like they are corroded on the the inside, or perhaps lose.
The issue is simple, sounds fine for a while, then a channel will cut out as the amp warms up. By moving the RCA connector back and forth a few times will bring the sound back,,,for a while anyway.
What do folks do, use cleaner, is there a mini brush, repair kit?
I have to bend/wiggle the RCA cable around pretty good to bring the sound back.
[have tried many cables]
Thanks for any advice.

I had a R115 that needed some solder joints re-touched on the back panel. After that worked great.
Thanks Scholl, that may be an issue. I do have to tug pretty hard on the connector to bring the sound back.
Have a Luxman R-114 that hasn't worked in years; called a couple of repair shops and they knew all about the problem on the front panel. The switches on the front are sensitive to dust and fixed it with 40lb of compressed air thru a mini air gun.

A good contact cleaner is Deoxit.
Available online in plenty of places.

Thanks ColinA,
In the past tried cleaner from MCM, which didn't seem to do much.
Just ordered the Deoxit.

Hi ODougbo,
I have 2 of these amps and a few LUXMANS of this vintage. My friend and tech guru is currently going through these bad boys and he was amazed they that worked at all despite all the cold solder joints. This seems to be a common flaw of an otherwise nice product from this era.
Fortunately it is very easy to rectify since these amplifiers are built in a very modular fashion. Anyone handy with a soldering iron can touch up these connections.
Another thing to redo is the heatsink compound, my was dried out. Save those SANKENS!
It goes without saying but always give the capacitors a close look too. They are 40 years old!
Cheers!
