Plastic / rubber lube...
Hi!
I usually use silicone spray (Automotive type) for lubing plastic / rubber, (but it can be too slippery for drive-belts).

That's probably a lithium-based grease. A moly or graphite lubricant will also work well, though make sure any you use are not solvent-based- a lot of the aerosol lubricants are in a carrier that can degrade quite a few plastics.
Works For Me....
I have used Dexron ATF for fine gears and bearings for a decade and it works for me.
DO NOT USE Singer sewing oil or WD-40.

Re: Plastic / rubber lube...
Everyone, be very, very careful with silicone products! You can create a hell before you know it. Silicone (certain types) creeps everywhere!

This is very good advice.
Silicone lubricants creep everywhere - they also evaporate and redeposit on things like CDP lenses.
ATF does not.

Silicone...
-is also a pest when entering connectors, switches, relays...
My use is very small / controlled.

BTW, I also use ATF-oil, Mobil1 syntetic ATF...

silicone and other oil
The silicone seems not such a good idea. I would like to know where i can buy the factory used stuff.

I believe the grease used is Lubriplate. It is the most common grease used on plastic gears and has been used for years.
