Hi,
I have 2 Lowther PM6C speakers that have metallic particles in the voice coil.
Is there a (simple) way to remove these particles?
Or do I have to send them out for repair?
And where to do I send them?

In Europe to Lowther England, but in the USA I think is Lowther America or user Jon Ver Halen
Where are you located? Hawaii?
I guess I remember the manual saying something about the strength of the magnet and to avoid close metallic parts. How did this happen?

those metallic particles are most likely nothing else but shavings of Hi-ferric paint they use in the voice coil gap...i hate that
take it apart, use sticky tape to clean the gap, put it back, center it, use it for awhile, observe the same problem, repeat...till you get fed up and get rid of Lowthers
(there is perhaps youtube how to do it)

The speakers (DIY Lowther TP1's) were in storage for years. It must have happened there.I guess I remember the manual saying something about the strength of the magnet and to avoid close metallic parts. How did this happen?![]()
I'm going to give it a try and see if I can fix them. They can always go to Lowther UK for repair if it doesn't work.those metallic particles are most likely nothing else but shavings of Hi-ferric paint they use in the voice coil gap...i hate that

I still need some speakers to fill my TP1's, do you have any suggestions?
Speakers to fill TP1s
Go with a pair of PM2As. I have those in my TP1s and am very happy with them.
